Elmo Party!

I felt like we talked about it for so long that it was never going to happen, but we finally had the Elmo party! Every time you asked Reese what she wanted for her birthday she would say "an Elmo birthday cake!" Her dreams finally came true. She is defnitely a child of mine loving cake that much! She got lots of great things for her birthday, Elmo books and DVD's, a big stuffed Elmo, clothes, garden tools, a bookbag with her name, a piggy bank, bubbles, little people, playdough, money, gift card and a new riding toy!! I am just glad we acutally have a playroom to put all of this stuff! Matt asked her Saturday night what she wanted her theme to be next year and of course he said for her, "a basketball theme sounds good!"

Happy 2nd Birthday Reese!

Reese had a great birthday. She received balloons at Tracey's house from her Annie (sister in law Lee Ann) They also had a little party at Tracey's for her where Reese shared some cupcakes with her friends. She got two new dolls and an Elmo backpack. Once we got home we went to Uncle Taylor's baseball game. She got to see Nanny, Pop, Grampy and Gran there. She had a ball playing outside. Taylor won his game and played very well. Afterward we went to Chic-filet and she enjoyed playing. When we got home we gave her her gift of a basketball goal. Daddy is trying to start early on her! Her Elmo party is tomorrow and she is really looking forward to her Elmo birthday cake!!

Job was cut!

Last week was really tough because I was told that my job was cut from Hardin County. I had a tough decision to make as far as staying at my school and going back to the classroom with a major pay cut or to apply for a GT district job making the same money. Finally, I decided that my passion and love is for the kids and the relationships that you can build with them through learning. I don't know yet what I will be teaching, but I am excited. What I am not excited about is moving all of my stuff and getting a classroom ready for August. I had a great four years in the CIA/GT position and I learned a lot that I can use in the classroom. It is so early in my career I realized that there would be situations like this and ultimately things work out for a reason!
